Cancun Trip Cost Calculator

Start on the homepage calculator, then adjust the assumptions here as you narrow down real quotes from airlines, resorts, and transfer providers.

What to include

Include flights, rooms, resort package, food and drinks, airport transfers, excursions, tips, checked bags, travel insurance, and a cash buffer.

Typical mistake

Travelers often compare only the resort price. The real budget changes once transfers, tips, excursions, and food outside the resort are included.

Quick default ranges

Budget$120-$180$25-$55/day$25-$50
Mid-range$200-$350$60-$100/day$50-$100

Decision guide

Create low, likely, and high Cancun budgets

A single total hides the uncertainty in airfare, exchange rates, meals, transportation, activities, and weather disruptions. Keep fixed quotes separate from variable allowances, then run at least three scenarios. The likely case should reflect your actual itinerary rather than a generic tourist average.

Separate fixed and variable costs

Put airfare, prepaid hotel, and confirmed tours in the fixed column. Put meals, local rides, tips, souvenirs, ATM fees, and exchange spread in the variable column. Add a contingency that is not assigned to shopping. If the trip is prepaid in dollars, do not convert those items to pesos a second time.

Before you decide

  • Record whether each quote includes tax and fees.
  • Use a live exchange benchmark near departure.
  • Price arrival and departure transfers separately.
  • Keep an emergency payment method outside the daily wallet.

Method and limitations

The calculator is a planning model, not a booking quote. Replace every default that materially affects the total. Recheck official transportation guidance and the current Quintana Roo travel advisory before departure, and use Guest Assist for official visitor-support information when needed.
